barking at the wrong tree

well it started with a video I was watching on fb,,, it was published by PETA,,, advising very passionately to turn oneself into vegetarian,, and using arguments like how it is inhuman behaviour to use animals for our own benefits and how healthy it could be for a person to turn him/herself in a vegetarian....
now tat started a chain of thought,,, we as a human are we really responsible for other inhabitants of this planet,,, means should it matter to me that whether or not my fellow non homosepians getting there fair share of planet or not...can we realistically afford to BE A Human...is that a sustainable proposition in first place?
everything that we do to further our dominance on this planet can easily be described as in-human,,, we dig up earth to extract metal for our fancy motorcycle,,, we we do drilling in sea and deserts to get oil to run these devils of machines... we contaminate air by gases,,, we pollute sea with oil spills, fishing and wat not,,,
if we were to give animals, plants, sea there share of planet,,, we will need to finish off at least 80% of our population and go back to stone age,,, so they can have a there earth back...
are we ready to do that??? I dont know,,, I guess it would be difficult to garner supermajority required to do that,,,
one last point,, I sometime come across arguments stating how GOD gonna sit on his mighty throne and judge us all one fine day,,, now what I was thinking is that if this almighty fella is even slightly concerned about our treatment of our fellow nonhomospeians,, he would order all of us to burn in hades pit for rest of eternity,,,
so those who check there behaviour in light of good and bad,,, need not worry,,, we all are DOOMED,,, and hell we dont want to do anything about it,,, DO WE???

It's just that others don't get this into their head. It's an animal kingdom. Only the fittest would survive. This is the way the world used to be, and this is the way the world would remain to be. Bothering for the non-homosepian fellow is useless. First, let's bother for ourselves.

I have no doubts that being selfish is intrinsically hard-coded deep inside the human-self. However, this is just not a good enough argument to defend our carelessness towards the planet and "other non-homosepians".
In the course of evolution, human race has naturally developed to rule the planet. Man is the king here from the ages. However, a king can not afford to be ignorant about its own kingdom for too long as it may pose a serious threat to his own existence. Ignorance is the biggest sin and one should cut the same branch he is sitting on.

Right or wrong is indeed quite subjective and some time this argument actually might just be an illusion in my opinion, may be right or wrong does not even exist. The real truth to life should be about what serves or what does not serve. And a vegetarian living does serve humanity in so many positive ways. by replacing animal foods with plant foods this helps reduce saturated fat and cholesterol and increases healthy fiber, vitamin C, folate and carotenoids. Research has shown that a diet rich in fruit and vegetables can decrease the risk of having a heart attack or stroke, protect against a variety of cancers, lower blood pressure plus has many other health benefits to help you prevent disease. So, even if man is not worried about other species on the planet, its in his own best interest (for the sake of its own selfish nature) to not to eat other animals.
If humans still do not want to pay a slightest heed towards this burning issue, then surely "GOD gonna sit on his mighty throne and judge us all one fine day". And this "God" is no one else but the delicate balance of nature which we are playing with and try to tweak every now and then. Stakes are high. If we do not realize it now, soon it will be too late. Lets save the planet and at least do what ever we can.

Starting from where you started...

Being Vegetarian (or Vegan) and Being non-veg is solely at a persons own discretion. Human race has evolved so superiorly that it can decide its position in food chain.

And its proven that lower an organism in food-chain, higher the share of energy it gets from sun.

The amount of calories being fed to animals to be eaten ( i.e. stored in them for future consumption by human), can directly go to human. ( If i remember correctly - this will save 90% of those calories - that is lost while flowing through these food-storage animals.)

So for food-security, energy-saving, better future of planet and all such good things... those who can pass there life as vegetarians, should most definitely do so.

PETA forgets the fact that plants are also living entities! Human beings would have to live by consuming air to be HUMAN!
